GFFL NATIONAL RANKINGS

Gamblers

1 GAMBLERS  0-0 250 pts [AFAL National Championship] *GFFL 2009 record 19-1 *fall2009[9-1] *spring2009[10-0]

Gamblers are coming off a great 2009 season.  2 GFFL championships, a Touch of Class championship, and now an AFAL National championship.  They are lead by their Pro-Bowl QB Tony Lindsay who commands the leagues most potent offense.  They can and will dominate their opponents at times, with above par talent at all positions.  This team has been around for over 25 years and has deep routes in the Denver football community.  They are once again the favorite to win it all as they have proven to be the best in Colorado and the West.

FTC

2 FTC 0-0  25 pts [Best of Best Championship]  *GFFL 2009 record 14-5 fall[8-2]  Spring[6-3]

FTC aka [the sharpest rides] Has everything it takes to win a championship in the GFFL, unfortunately they have come up short two seasons in a row.  With one of the best QB in the league QB Doc Holliday is money when it counts and this team has great chemsitry.  Their eyes are solely on beating the Gamblers as they have NEVER beaten them in the regular season but were also booted out of the playoffs semi-final spring and out of the championship last fall.  FTC has added key pieces over the last two seasons and this may be their year to finally get over the hump.

GOATS

3 GOATS 0-0 *GFFL 2009 record 12-7 fall[5-4] Spring[7-3]

G.O.A.T.S. have been a standard for years in flag football and are coming off a tremendous ThunderBowl championship this winter. They are lead once again by Pro-Bowl QB Dave Maestas on offense and Pro-Bowl FS Dave Nichols on defense.  They should be strong as usual contending in the top 3 for the championship but may have lost WR Mario Lopez to the Gamblers this offseason.  Regardless, plenty of firepower in Pro-Bowl WR Mike Tinlin and WR Marcus Brown. The defense will be disciplined as always with another Pro-Bowl player in Cory Juillard on the D-Line. G.O.A.T.S. will also be heading to Las Vegas March 26-28 for the 'MCFFU World Championships'

challengers bar

4 CHALLENGERS BAR 0-0 25 pts  *GFFL 2009 record 4-12 fall[2-6] Spring[2-6]

Challengers Bar is coming in ranked #8 and could even crack the top 5 this season if they can put things together.  They picked up half of the Regulators roster this winter  [QB Dave Greene]  but still could not win the big game against the better than average teams.  On the outside the team has the big names, the Pro-Bowl players, and the ex-NFL stars to win a GFFL championship.  Two major factors to Challengers Bar success: QB Dave Greene's accuracy and ability to consistently lead drives that score points, also can the secondary stop

TN2

5 TN2 0-0  *GFFL 2009 record 5-3 fall[5-3]

TN2 surprised a lot of teams in their inaugural GFFL season, by going 5-2 in the regular season.  Lead by there QB Ben Bzjak who threw 19 TD passes for 1150 yards and their dominate offensive line, TN2 highlighted the season by beating the G.O.A.T.S.  The defense is probably the soft spot for them but if they can recruit a couple defensive playmakers this team can compete with the best. Running game comes to mind when playing this physical team and they are one of the best doing it in the GFFL, I'd like to see them take advantage of this using play-action to get their speedy receivers behind coverages.  Look for them to stay in the top 5 most of the season.

Lightning

6 LIGHTNING 0-0 100 pts  *GFFL 2009 record 6-12 fall[3-6] Spring[3-6]

Lightning has been absolutely on fire this winter going 17-2 since November.  They looked like a completely different team with Darius Watts doing what he does best and by adding fast and agile QB's to play the shifty position in Coach Larry Russ' patented offense.  But they failed to make it out of the 1st round in the Foothills playoffs due to lack of participation from key players who had prior arrangements.  They still have a chance to win the South Suburban playoffs later this January and that should have them prepared for Spring.  If they can get all of their talent on the field at the same time they will be a force to reckon with.

BRAWLERZ

7 BRAWLERZ 0-0 [expansion team]
Brawlerz have a great tradition but are new to the league and will have their work cut-out for them.  "You better bring a lunch" no easy wins here... They start at #10 since they are newbies

ballers

8 BALLERS 0-0  *GFFL 2009 record 7-9 fall[4-5] Spring[3-4]

Ballers have Pro-Bowl QB Matt Paul and he is pretty much the engine that makes this car go.  He's a multiple threat QB that has learned a lot over the past few years, winning multiple championships around Colorado.  What the Ballers need is for their players to make plays in crucial situations.  they have the talent but that talent lacks at times, especially when they need a win.  Solid foundation still exists and they will gain a few more players back that they previously lost to free agency so they will definitely make a deeper playoff run.  They always get to atleast the 2nd round but we all know that is not good enough.

GOODFELLAS

9 GOODFELLAS 0-0 [expansion team]

Goodfellas are new to the mountain conference but have plenty of experience.  Ranked 11th due to the fact that they are newbies but I know they will end up much higher than this .  I also look to them to be a surprise team this season as they have plenty of NCAA talent on the roster.
